"No School Day" Program: SURVIVAL SKILLS DAY

Bellingham Public Schools do not have school on Friday, March 10th. ***

*** Bellingham actually has school 3/10 due to a snow make up day, but we have had enough interest and we are running this program anyway! ***


Whether your 7-12 old child attends public school, private school or is homeschooled, they are invited join us Fairhaven Park for a special Wilderness Survival Skills day in the forest! 

We will be discussing basic survival principles and skills such as “The Rule of Threes” (we can survive for about 3 minutes without air, 3 hours without shelter, 3 days without water & 3 weeks without food), Shelter-building, Fire-making, Wild Edible (and Poisonous!) plant ID, Water Purification, Aid-less Navigation, and the ever important Proper Attitude.
We will not just be talking though, this is an hands-on experiential program!
We will be putting some skills such as Shelter-building, Wild Edibles and Fire-making into practice.

Besides all of that we playing nature awareness games throughout the day! 

We hope to see your child at Fairhaven on 3/10!
