Ohhh, the woods are absolutely magical right now!  Here's a little bit about what the Fox Walkers have been up to over the past couple of weeks:

With their Owl Eyes, the Fox Walkers have been. . . seeing plants like Stinging Nettles, Skunk Cabbage, and itty bitty Big Leaf Maple seedlings sprouting up all over. . .noticing Indian Plum leaves getting bigger every day. . . watching Chickadees excavating a nest. . . and witnessing Trumpeter Swans and Snow Geese flying north. . .

Fire Keepers | Week 13 | Fire Challenge & Cattail Adventures

Knee-deep in a Cattail swamp is where we found ourselves at the end of the day at Fire Keepers last Wednesday, though our morning started out a bit differently!  Nature magic was in the air that morning as we quietly observed two Hairy woodpeckers pecking at a Cedar tree, a young raccoon lope right passed us, and a visit from two first-year bucks!

Fox Walkers | Week 25 | Plant Awareness

Last week at Fox Walkers was chock full of wild edible inspiration!  A major highlight was preparing delicious Big Leaf Maple Blossom fritters (we made them Gluten & Dairy Free - that’s actually coconut milk in the glass milk jug in the pics!).  They were delicious, especially with a dollop of Maple syrup on them.  Yum!  We’re truly grateful for the wild edible abundance this time of year.  Spring in the Pacific Northwest is so incredibly special!
